The Kerfuffle ★★★★

Geoff, One 4 Review | Posted on August 12th, 2013

Gordon Southern is a very likeable comedian and one I have seen on quite a few occasions over the years and his 2013 offering is as always packed through of material, gags with the odd bit of clowning about as well. And of course it wouldn’t be right if he didn’t have his sound effect machine playing stings on and off throughout the show.

Southern is a much travelled soul, spending a good chunk of his life ‘Down Under’ so when there are no Aussies in the show I saw he elected one , he also ‘spotted’ a few other celebrities in the audience as well and kept the pretence going throughout.

His material distributed through the aforementioned patter `touched on family issues, Groupon, haggling, and supermarket shopping, the difference a year makes in London and a fair amount of stuff on his excursion to Cyprus to entertain the returning troops from Afghanistan.

The audience in at the show I saw were not the most up for it one I’ve seen, there was little doubt they were enjoying themselves, but not so outgoing, yet he never let the pace drop throughout.

He has a very good show and with a lively audience it could be even better.
